Switch Compatibility

Our artisan keycaps are designed for cross-shaped MX-style mechanical keyboard switches.

Compatibility may vary with non-standard switches, low-profile switches, membrane keyboards and proprietary keyboard structures.

Profile and Size

  • Profile: Approximately SA height
  • Width: Standard single-key size unless otherwise stated
  • Placement: Suitable for one standard single-key position

Because artisan keycaps are taller and heavier than ordinary keycaps, we recommend using them on positions such as ESC or other less frequently pressed keys.

Installation

  1. Turn off or disconnect the keyboard.
  2. Use a keycap puller to remove the existing keycap vertically.
  3. Align the cross-shaped stem carefully.
  4. Press the new keycap down gently and evenly.
  5. Confirm that the key can move freely without rubbing nearby keys.

Do not twist, force or repeatedly bend the keycap stem.

If the keycap does not fit with gentle pressure, stop installation and contact us with a photograph of the switch and keycap stem. Do not use hot water or force the keycap into place.
